Oregon State University’s in-person graduation celebration on Friday, June 11, will impact parking and traffic flows on the Corvallis campus.

The event, which takes place from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., will include an informal processional of graduates, departing from the Memorial Union and Valley Library quads and ending at Reser Stadium, where graduates will hear brief remarks from OSU leaders.

The event is for graduates only and will prompt changes to parking on campus Friday, as well as road closures, that anyone visiting campus needs to be aware of. Additionally, residence hall occupants will be moving out during that time, which will further complicate navigating campus.

Beginning at 10 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m., Friday, June 11:

Streets running north/south closed to vehicle traffic:

  • 26th Street is closed from 26th and Campus to the north and 26th and Western from the south for the processional.
  • Benton Place is closed for vehicles northbound from Washington Way
  • Cars cannot turn west on Washington Way from traveling north on 17th street
  • Cars can only exit south to Western Ave from the parking lot behind The LaSells Stewart Center

Streets running east/west closed to vehicle traffic:

  • Washington Way is closed from 30th to the west to 15th to the east.
  • Jefferson Way is closed from 26th to the west to 15th to the east
  • Ralph Miller Lane is open to access the parking lot, but cars cannot exit Ralph Miller on to 26th  St.
  • No vehicle access to 26th from Intramural Way

Public safety officers will be monitoring the closures to ensure that marchers in the graduate procession will not be impeded by traffic. Parking lots in these areas will also be closed to traffic so that graduates may safely assemble. All parking closures will be posted.

30th Street will remain open to traffic so that residence hall occupants have access as they move out. Access to the parking garage will be available only from Western Blvd.

The closed streets and lots will be opened at the conclusion of the event.

Oregon State’s official commencement ceremony takes place virtually on Saturday, June 12.
