Many of our faculty, staff and students go above and beyond in their roles at OSU or in their communities from Corvallis to Bend to Newport and throughout the state. Here are some of their stories.

Emily Faltesek developed Healthy Beaver Bags to give students a fun, creative option for grocery assistance at a time when food insecurity is on the rise.

For soon-to-be graduate Adrianna Marlen, signing on with OSU’s TRACE-COVID-19 coronavirus prevalence project meant a chance to meld community service with the goal of testing her “real-life skills.”

As the university shifted to remote operations, Calvin Otis was tasked with conducting research and drafting policy that would help protect the information of the university, its students and employees.

College of Science head advisor Heather Arbuckle has been instrumental in connecting students in need with the college's Equity Promise Scholarship. Since the onset of COVID-19, the number of applications for scholarship funds has skyrocketed. 

The nature of Abraham Felix’s job changed quite a bit when the COVID-19 pandemic drove most students and staff away from Oregon State University’s Corvallis campus.
