Oregon State Board of Trustees to consider 2025 fiscal year budget on May 17

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet May 16 and 17 and consider acceptance of the 2025 fiscal year university operating budget.

The board will meet from 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 17 in the Memorial Union Horizon Room. Board committees will meet from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 16 in the Horizon Room. Additionally, the board will have a joint meeting with the OSU Foundation Board from 3 to 4:30 p.m. May 15 to discuss the foundation’s strategic plan.

Oregon State Board of Trustees approves tuition rates, accepts 10-year business forecast

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Board of Trustees on Friday approved tuition rates and student fees for the 2024-25 school year and accepted an updated 10-year business forecast.

The undergraduate tuition rates for the 2024-25 academic year include an overall increase of 4.65% for continuing students.

Oregon State Board of Trustees to review 10-year business forecast and proposed tuition rates on April 5

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet April 4 and 5 to consider acceptance of the updated 10-year business forecast and approval of tuition rates and student fees for the 2024-25 school year.

The board will meet from 9:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 5. Board committees will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:05 p.m. April 4.

On April 5, in addition to considering the 10-year business forecast and tuition rates, the board will consider approving a short-term debt resolution and hear an update on the 2024 state legislative session.

Oregon State alumnus, NFL great Steven Jackson to give commencement address on June 15

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Steven Jackson, an Oregon State University alumnus, former Beavers football player and star NFL running back, will deliver the commencement address at the university’s 155th commencement ceremony

The ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 15 at Reser Stadium on the Corvallis campus.

OSU names AVP of economic development and industry relations

BEND, Ore. – Rebecca Robinson has been appointed associate vice president for the newly formed economic development and industry relations office at Oregon State University and also will serve as senior advisor for strategic initiatives at OSU-Cascades. She will start on April 15.

Robinson comes to OSU from Kansas State University where she most recently served as president and CEO of K-State Innovation Partners, overseeing Kansas State’s innovation ecosystem, including economic development, corporate engagement, technology commercialization and strategic initiatives.

John V. Byrne, Oregon State’s 12th president, dies at age 95

CORVALLIS, Ore. – John V. Byrne, who served as Oregon State University’s 12th president from 1984 to 1995 after leading the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, died Thursday. He was 95. 

As president of Oregon State, Byrne oversaw the construction of buildings and the addition of degree programs, strengthened OSU’s academic reputation and boosted fundraising.

Oregon State Board of Trustees to discuss election of board officers, presidential pay on Jan. 19

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet remotely Jan. 18 and 19 to consider election of board officers, a presidential compensation adjustment and a debt resolution of long-term refinancing.

The board will meet from 9:15 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. Jan. 19. Board committees will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. Jan. 18.

On Jan. 19, in addition to considering election of board officers and a presidential compensation adjustment, the board will discuss board assessment results, a diversity action plan and a legislative update.
