CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State University will host two virtual public forums this week to share with Corvallis and Benton County community members planning underway by OSU to gradually resume on-campus teaching, research, Extension programming and university operations.
The meetings will be held by Zoom from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 3 and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4. OSU President Ed Ray and other university leaders will provide updates about resumption planning underway. Members of the community can ask questions of OSU leaders and share resumption suggestions and concerns.
OSU is planning for low-density presence and a mixed modality approach to instruction on the Corvallis campus for the later parts of summer term and for fall term with some instruction taking place on-site, some remotely and some online. Campus business operations and on-site research activities will resume gradually and in compliance with state and health authority guidance.
The forums will include presentations by OSU Provost Ed Feser; Dan Larson, the university’s COVID-19 response coordinator; Charlie Fautin, interim co-director of the Benton County Health Department; Peter Banwarth, Benton County epidemiologist; and OSU student leaders.
