CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet Friday, Jan. 18, to consider Strategic Plan 4.0 metrics, the university’s 10-year capital forecast, an amendment to the board’s investment policy and issuance of OSU revenue bonds.
The board will discuss risks in today’s higher education landscape and hear reports from the OSU Foundation and OSU Alumni Association and a report on the close of the university’s OSU150 celebration.
A public comment period is provided at each board meeting. Commenters may register by e-mail before the meeting by contacting Lauren Skousen at [email protected] or may register at the meeting itself. There is also a public comment opportunity before the board votes on each action item listed on the board agenda.
The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Horizon Room of the Memorial Union, 2501 SW Jefferson Way in Corvallis. It is open to the public.
There will be a joint meeting of the Executive & Audit and Finance & Administration committees that same day from 8 to 8:45 a.m. in the Horizon Room of the Memorial Union to consider a fiscal year 2018 external audit annual report.
Additionally, the following board committees will meet on Thursday, Jan. 17, in the Horizon Room of the Memorial Union. These meetings are also open to the public:
- The Executive & Audit Committee will meet from 8 to 9 a.m. to review the audit services 2018 final progress report and the 2019 annual audit plan, and consider an adjustment in presidential compensation. The committee will also discuss enterprise risk management.
- The Finance & Administration Committee will meet from 9 a.m. to 1:25 p.m. to consider quarterly financial reports; an internal bank annual report; a ten-year capital forecast; an amendment to the board’s investment policy; and the issuance of OSU revenue bonds. The committee will also hear a fiscal year 2018 financial update and discuss budget planning and preliminary tuition scenarios for fiscal year 2020.
- The Academic Strategies Committee will meet from 1:25 to 4:15 p.m. to consider new academic programs in the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Public Health and Human Sciences. The committee will also hear the provost’s status report, a research briefing, and an outreach and engagement briefing and discuss institutional accreditation.

On Thursday, Jan. 17, the Board and the Associated Students of OSU will host an informal student-trustee discussion at the Human Services Resource Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Participation in the discussion will be limited to invited guests but members of the public may attend.
