CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet on Friday, Jan. 24, to consider the university’s 10-year business forecast, amendments to its conduct of board meetings policy, the election of board officers, and the board’s 2020 work plan.
The board also will hear updates on the upcoming legislative session, the university’s implementation of Strategic Plan 4.0 and the university’s food insecurity initiatives.
The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Horizon Room of the Memorial Union, 2501 SW Jefferson Way in Corvallis. It is open to the public.
The board also will hold an executive session as part of its agenda, pursuant to ORS 192.660(2)(d) to conduct deliberations with persons designated by the governing body to carry on labor negotiations.
There will be a joint meeting of the board’s Executive and Audit, and Finance and Administration committees on Jan. 24 from 8 to 8:45 a.m. in the Horizon Room of the Memorial Union to consider a Fiscal Year 2019 external audit annual report.
Additionally, the following board committees will meet on Thursday, Jan. 23, in the Horizon Room. These meetings are open to the public:
- The Executive and Audit Committee will meet from 8 to 9:30 a.m. to consider amendments to the trustees’ conduct of board meetings policy; the election of board officers; and the Office of Audit, Risk and Compliance’s 2019 final progress report and 2020 annual plan. The committee also will discuss enterprise risk management.
- The Finance and Administration Committee will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. to consider quarterly financial reports; an internal bank annual report; a capital project update on renovations to support a new gymnastics practice facility; and the university’s 10-year business forecast. The committee will discuss budget planning and preliminary tuition scenarios for Fiscal Year 2020 and hear an update from the OSU Foundation.
- The Academic Strategies Committee will meet from 2 to 5 p.m. to consider proposed new academic programs in creative writing, engineering science, history, and outdoor products. The committee will discuss standardized testing in admissions and hear briefings on research and outreach and engagement.
On Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., the Board and the Office of Institutional Diversity will host an informal discussion on Native American Student Success at the Native American Longhouse. Participation will be limited to invited guests, but members of the public may attend.
On Thursday, Jan. 23, the Board of Trustees will host a work session to follow up on discussions from the board’s October retreat from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. in the Journey Room of the Memorial Union. Participation will be limited to invited guests, but members of the public may attend.
