CORVALLIS, Ore. — As COVID-19 vaccines become more widely available, Oregon State University experts will hold a panel discussion about the cultural, philosophical, community, policy and strategic aspects of vaccine dissemination.
The Under the Orange Light series webinar, titled “We Have Three Effective COVID-19 Vaccines: What are the Strategies for Dissemination and What are the Hold Ups?” will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17. The Zoom event is free and open to the public at this link. There will also be time for audience members to ask questions.
The panel features five faculty members who will cover various angles of the vaccine conversation: Joseph Catania, Marion Ceraso and Peggy Dolcini from the College of Public Health and Human Sciences, Courtney Campbell from the College of Liberal Arts and Elizabeth Marino from OSU-Cascades.
Catania has studied dissemination and implementation sciences, along with vaccine uptake; Ceraso researches the impact of public policies and public health communication; Dolcini works in implementation sciences and health disparities; Campbell is a medical ethicist and Marino is currently conducting studies into effective public health messaging for vaccine-hesitant communities.
The panel will be moderated by Anita Azarenko, interim vice provost for the Division of Extension and Engagement and director of the OSU Extension Service.
The Zoom discussion will be recorded and available for viewing afterward on the panel website. Accommodations for disabilities may be made by contacting Dwaine Plaza at 541-737-5669 or [email protected].
