OSU Theatre presents ‘The Passion of Dracula’ in November

Oct. 29, 2018

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State University Theatre will open its 2018-19 season with “The Passion of Dracula,” in November.

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8-10 and Nov. 16-17 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 18 on the Withycombe Hall main stage theatre, 2901 S.W. Campus Way, Corvallis.

The theme for the 2018-19 season is “Literature Comes to Life.”

“The Passion of Dracula” is an adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Gothic tale, set in the English countryside in 1911. A new resident named Count Dracula appears and suddenly strange disappearances and mysterious murders haunt the once-peaceful community.

Director Nathan Bush’s production embraces the humor and the terror of the familiar characters of Renfield, Jonathan Harker and the eponymous Count.

“The audience will experience a funny, sometimes silly battle between good and evil rooted in vampire magic pitted against the will of a group of characters to survive,” Bush said.

The cast features OSU students Alessandra Ferriso as Dr. Helga Van Zandt; Srimanyu Ganapathineedi as Jonathan Harker; Evan Granquist as Dr. Cedric Seward; Cole Haenggi as Count Dracula; Adam Keenan as Lord Godalming; Matt Lewis as Jameson; Yihong Lu as Renfield; Nicole Moussa as Wilhelmina Murray; and Nate Pereira as Professor Van Helsing.

Tickets are $12 for general admission; $10 for seniors, $8 for youth/students; and $5 for OSU students. They are available through the OSU Theatre Box Office at 541-737-2784 or online at http://bit.ly/2SoP2nY. Contact the box office for disability access accommodations and/or group ticket sales.
