Oregon State Board of Trustees to discuss presidential assessment, compensation adjustment

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet Oct. 24 and 25 and consider a fiscal year 2024 assessment of President Jayathi Murthy and a presidential compensation adjustment.

The board is scheduled to meet from 9:15 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Memorial Union Horizon Room. Board committees are scheduled to meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:35 p.m. Oct. 24 in the Horizon Room. Additionally, the board will hold a retreat primarily focused on training at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 23.

On Oct. 25, the board will consider a 2025 board work plan, 2024 board assessment results and amendments to the Public University Fund investment policy. The board will also hear a legislative update and reports on advancing inclusive excellence and the OSU-Cascades Innovation District.

On Oct. 24, board committees will consider their 2025 work plans and 2024 assessment results and receive briefings on the landscape of athletics, the 10-year business forecast, the Administrative Modernization Program and faculty affairs. Additionally, a needs assessment of the board will be considered to identify the ideal characteristics of any individual chosen to fill an anticipated vacancy on the board.

At the end of the meeting on Oct. 25, the board will hold an executive session, pursuant to ORS 192.660(2)(d) to conduct deliberations with those designated to carry on labor negotiations.

The retreat on Oct. 23 is focused on training, which will not include information or discussion around substantive areas or decisions.
