CORVALLIS, Ore. – Andrea Ballinger, an information technology executive with more than 20 years of experience working in higher education, has been named vice provost for information and technology at Oregon State University.
“Andrea brings a record of strong leadership as an IT executive, as well as great enthusiasm for advancing the missions of the university and the Division of Information and Technology,” said Edward Feser, Oregon State’s provost and executive vice president.
Ballinger most recently served as Louisiana State University’s associate vice president and chief technology officer, providing leadership, vision and direction to LSU’s investment, deployment and strategic use of information technology resources. Before joining LSU, she worked in IT leadership at Illinois State University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She holds an undergraduate degree and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Ballinger will begin Sept. 30. Jon Dolan, who has been serving as interim vice provost for IT, will return to his post as associate vice provost at that time.
