CORVALLIS, Ore. – Artist Eric Dyer will present a talk on “Material Motion,” at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in the Construction & Engineering Auditorium at the LaSells Stewart Center, 875 SW 26th St., Corvallis.
A reception will be held at 6 p.m. The reception and the talk are free and open to the public. The event is part of the Visiting Artists and Scholars Lecture Series sponsored by the School of Arts and Communication at OSU. While at Oregon State, Dyer also will review and critique student artwork.
Dyer is an artist/educator who brings animation into the physical world through sequential images, sculptures, installations and performances. A professional animator, music video director and experimental filmmaker, Dyer spent years working at a computer to produce images for the screen.
Dyer’s current work involves a more tactile process; he is using new tools and moving his work off the screen and into physical spaces.
The Visiting Artists and Scholars Lecture series brings world-renowned artists and scholars to campus to interact with students in the art department so they can learn what is required of a professional artist or scholar. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/2OSRPIb.
