CORVALLIS, Ore. — The School of Arts and Communication at Oregon State University presents a talk by the American printmaker Tom Huck at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, in the Construction & Engineering Auditorium at the LaSells Stewart Center, 875 SW 26th St.
Huck is best known for large-scale, satirical woodcuts. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, he runs his own press, called “Evil Prints.” His illustrations have appeared in The Village Voice, The Riverfront Times and the Minneapolis City Pages, and his woodcut prints are included in numerous public and private collections, including the Library of Congress, the Art Institute of Chicago and the New York Public Library.
A reception with light refreshments will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the Myrtle Tree Alcove at the LaSells Stewart Center prior to Huck’s talk. All are welcome. Seating in the auditorium is limited to 200.
In addition to his public talk, Huck will be visiting OSU art classes and reviewing art studio portfolios on campus. The Visiting Artists and Scholars Lecture series brings world-renowned artists and scholars to campus to interact with art students so they can learn what is required of a professional artist or scholar.
