OSU political experts to hold virtual forum on impact of 2020 presidential election

Oct. 29, 2020

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State University political researchers will address the fallout of the upcoming 2020 presidential election in a post-election forum on Nov. 12.

The forum, “Under the Orange Light: We Had an Election; Now What?” will be presented by OSU’s Faculty Senate Executive Committee and structured as a series of three lightning talks by political science professors, followed by questions from the audience.

Christopher Stout, Rorie Solberg and David Bernell, all associate professors of political science in OSU’s College of Liberal Arts, will each spend about 10 minutes addressing different aspects of the election and its aftermath, including voter demographics, the Electoral College and any major shifts in Congress.

The discussion and Q&A will be moderated by Erika McCalpine, director of the OSU-Cascades Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Laboratory and director of the business administration program at the Cascades campus.

Under the Orange Light will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12. The event is free and open to all. To join, follow this Zoom link: https://oregonstate.zoom.us/j/94237494277; no pre-registration is required.
