CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State University Theatre’s 2019-2020 season continues this month with the family-friendly musical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s children’s classic, “The Secret Garden.”
Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28-29 and March 6-7, with 2 p.m. matinees on March 1 and 8, on the Withycombe Hall Main Stage, 2901 SW Campus Way in Corvallis. The March 6 performance will be sign-language interpreted.
With music by Lucy Simon and book and lyrics by Marsha Norman, the production follows the story of Mary Lennox, a young and troubled orphan sent to live with unfamiliar relatives in Yorkshire in 1911, where she discovers a hidden garden and long-buried family secrets.
The show is a collaboration between OSU Theatre and Music and directed by music instructor Anthony Eversole, who also plays Mary’s father in the show.
The cast includes OSU students Tanya Bihari, Lorna Baxter, Michael Eclevia, Steven Evans-Renteria, Easton Fiser, Hanna Foshay, Ataria Gauthier, Ash Gilbert, Natalie Harris, Jacob Hungerfold, Leah Kahn, Dylan Lewis, Cameron Macdonald, Jordan Satterfield and Tyson Zagelow; as well as community members Eliette Barlow and Ellie Smith.
